Product Care & Help Guide

Proper inspection, assembly, tensioning, and storage help ensure safe athletic performance and extend the lifespan of your training gear. This guide from Aylmersport provides general care, assembly, and maintenance advice across our badminton equipment, billiards and pool cues, boxing gear, golf nets, and training apparatus. Please always refer to the specific instructions supplied with your individual item.

1. Golf Nets & Badminton Sets: Assembly & Tension Care

  • Clearance Margins: When setting up golf practice cages or driving nets, always maintain at least 1 to 1.5 metres of clear buffer space between the back of the net and any rigid walls, fences, windows, or vehicles. High-velocity golf ball strikes can cause the net mesh to billow backwards upon impact.
  • Ground Anchoring: In outdoor garden settings, secure all frame corners firmly using the included ground stakes. Never use golf nets or freestanding badminton posts during high winds or severe gales, as wind gusting can catch the netting surface and topple the frame.
  • Indoor Storage Between Sessions: High-density polyester netting should be taken down and packed inside its protective carry bag when not in use. Prolonged exposure to continuous dampness and UV sunlight can degrade synthetic net fibres over time.

2. Boxing Gloves & Bag Brackets: Hygiene & Structural Safety

  • Airing Out Gloves: After training sessions, wipe the exterior synthetic or leather shell with a dry towel and unfasten the wrist straps completely to allow the inner foam lining to air dry in a well-ventilated room. Never dry boxing gloves on hot radiators or tumble dry them, as direct heat can crack the outer shell and deform the shock-absorbing padding.
  • Hand Wrap Hygiene: Always wear clean cotton hand wraps underneath your gloves. Wraps absorb hand sweat, protect small wrist bones, and prevent internal glove odours.
  • Wall Bracket Inspection: For heavy punch bag wall mounts, periodically inspect the tightness of masonry expansion bolts. Heavy bag dynamic swinging generates repetitive vibrational torque; tighten any loose fixings immediately before training.

3. Billiards & Pool Cues: Straightness & Tip Maintenance

  • Vertical or Case Storage: Natural ash and maple cue shafts are sensitive to moisture and uneven heat. Always store cues upright in a dedicated wall clip rack or lay them completely flat inside a padded hard cue case. Never lean a two-piece cue diagonally against a corner wall, as gravity and room heat can induce permanent shaft warpage.
  • Shaft Cleaning: Wipe the cue shaft down with a clean, dry microfibre cloth after play to remove hand oils and chalk dust. Avoid using wet cloths or soaking liquids on natural wood shafts.
  • Tip Shaper Usage: Use a fine chalk cube gently across the leather tip before shots. When re-shaping or scuffing a compacted leather tip, use a dedicated cue tip shaper lightly without shaving away the brass ferrule.

4. Training Equipment: Agility Ladders, Cones & Bands

  • Resistance Band Inspection: Before stretching elastic resistance bands, inspect the latex or fabric tubing for small nicks, tears, or punctures. Never overstretch bands beyond three times their resting length, and keep them away from sharp trainer soles or rough outdoor concrete.
  • Footwear Surface: Use agility ladders and reaction cones on level sports turf, gym rubber flooring, or dry hard courts. Clean mud and grass clippings off training markers before storing them in their mesh bag.

5. Product-Specific Instructions

The guidance on this page is general care and maintenance advice. Weight limits, tensile strengths, tensioning guidelines, and mounting requirements vary by model. Always follow the instructions and specifications provided on the relevant product page and with your item. Do not exceed stated bracket weight capacities, strike chipping nets with high-speed drivers, or use apparatus in a manner inconsistent with its intended athletic purpose.
